Music Notes: Acid House Kings "Music Sounds Better With You"

Next week, Sweden's Acid House Kings returns with their fifth album, "Music Sounds Better With You." The group has previously released: "Sing Along With Acid House Kings" (2005), "Mondays Are Like Tuesdays and Tuesdays Are Like Wednesdays" (2002), "Advantage Acid House Kings" (1997) and "Pop, Look & Listen!" (1992). Through each release, Acid House Kings which now are comprised of Niklas Angergård, Johan Angergård and vocalist Julia Lannerheim have perfected their craft to deliver perfect pop songs. It's hard to single out any one song on "Music Sounds Better With You" as it's devoid of any duds. They have already released two singles, "Are We Lovers Or Are We Friends?" and "Would You Say Stop?" which were great teasers to what is an amazing album. Sit back, relax and let their songs glide through your ears. Before long, you'll be dancing the day away with their infectious tunes.

VidTrax: "Wear It Like A Crown " by Rebekka Karijord

This was the video shot for the single,"Wear It Like a Clown," taken from Rebekka Karijord's 2009 album, "The Noble Art of Letting Go." Beautiful song.

Hidden gems of 2010: Nina Kinert "Red Leader Dream"

Sweden's Nina Kinert released a new album, "Red Leader Dream," (yes that is a Star Wars reference) back in November. Straying from her folk debut, first single "Play the World," sounds very similar to new indie group Glasser.

Hidden gems of 2010: Club 8 "The People's Record"

Photo by Kjell B Persson, courtesy of Labrador Records
Sweden's Club 8 returned with another release, "The People's Record," in May of this year on Labrador Records. The album is a mixture of Swedish pop and African rhythms. One or two tracks remind me of Bow Wow Wow from the early '80s.

A nice video by Victoria Bergsman's Taken by Trees" to help you relax and forget about this nasty winter we're having. The track is her rendition of Animal Collective's "My Boys."

New Tracks: Pallers "Arctic Hymn"

To get you in the mood for the holidays, Swedish group Pallers released a nice new ethereal Christmas tune, "Arctic Hymn," this week. Check it out.

New Tracks: Korallreven "Honey Mine (ft Victoria Bergsman)

Even though this track has been out for a bit, I'll still include it as a new track. Sweden's Korallreven has released a new single, "Honey Mine." It features Victoria Bergsman, formerly of The Concretes. She had a solo album out last year, not to mention lending vocals on the 2006 hit "Young Folks." Expect a full length from Korallreven sometime in Spring. Enjoy.
