Ones to watch out for in 2011: Guards

For those who might appreciate the work that goes into searching for new indie groups, I am starting a "Ones to watch for in 2011" post every time that I come across a new band that might not be as well known as mainstream indie bands. Other sites may have already blogged about them but I think one more can never hurt, especially since most groups have to rely on word of mouth more than ever before with the state of today's music industry.

First up is Guards aka Richie Follin, half of another new indie group, Cults, which he formed with his sister Madeline. As their label 3syllablesrecords describes them: Sheer head nodding, shoe gazing, psychedelic 1950’s harmony ballroom massacre matched up with1960‘s guitar floppy fringe jangle rock with a bang.
